Convenience meets style

Styletto Connect is rechargeable using Lithium ion battery technology. The hearing aids come with a portable charging case, so you will not have to worry about batteries running out.

A full charge takes 3 hours and gives you up to 19 hours of use. Also the Styletto charging case holds 3 full cycles of charge .

It is small and light in weight, which allows you to fit in your pocket to carry with you all day. This means the charger is free from plugs or cables – perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway or an important business trip.

Bluetooth connectivity

Full connection to mobile phones via Bluetooth is available for streaming phone calls and music from your mobile phones.

Oticon Opn S is the newest addition to Oticon hearing aid family.

It is claimed to be the first hearing aid proven to make it easier on the brain, allowing the users to enjoy 30% better speech understanding, reduce listening effort by 20% , remember 20% more of the conversation.

 Hearing loss and hearing aids

We hear not only with our ears but also with our brain. The hearing process starts when the ears pick up sounds. But most of the processing work of the sound takes place in our brain. The brain performs 4 cognitive functions to turn sounds into meaning: orient, separate, focus and recognise.

Hearing loss, disrupts the normal relationship between ears and brain, making the 4 cognitive functions more difficult. This is often presented as a difficulty to follow conversation in noisy situation. In situations such as at the dinner table, where the sound is coming from different directions it becomes increasingly difficult. Traditional hearing aids normally focus on a main speech in front while suppressing all other sounds. Yet background sounds often include important speech details, and when not passed onto the brain, conversations are difficult to follow conversations.

Oticon Opn Tm running on Velox platform, employs an “Open sound” approach to manage multiple speech and noise sources. The OpenSound Navigator TM scans the environment 100 times per second to distinguish between speech and background noise.

While opening to 360-degree sound field to allow the wear to orient the sound source, it continually separates speech and noise, then acts at least 100 times per second to removed excessive noise – even between the words. In this way, the wearer can focus on conversation more easily and hence easier recognition of speech.

Furthermore ,Oticon reports that the Velox platform has the speed needed to manage multiple sound sources, analysing and processing sound 50 times faster than before.

Made for iPhone

Oticon Opn Tm miniRITE is the first Oticon hearing aid to have direct iPhone connectivity. This means hearing aid doubles as a pair of wireless headphones, allowing the wear to stream music and make calls without the need for an intermediary device.

Oticon ON App

Oticon ON App makes it easier for hearing aid wears to have additional control with just a touch of their fingertips. iPhone or the Android smart phone connect directly to the hearing aid via Bluetooth. The app allows the hearing aid wearer to adjust volume levels, switch between programs and more. The app also offers a “find my hearing aid” search feature, counselling device, links to user instructions and low battery notification.

Own Voice Processing ( OVP)

The sound of own voice is the most common issues for new hearing aid wearers.    For most hearing aid wearers, the more their hearing aid processed voice differs from their own perception of their own voice, the less comfortable and accepting the experience will be.

To achieve clear speech understanding, hearing aids need to provide appropriate volume and audibility. However, the sufficient amplification often leads to reduced acceptance of own voice. In an attempt to solve the problem, the audiologist reduces the amplification to ensure own voice sounds more natural. This, of course, reduces the audibility of speech.

The Signia NX hearing aids uses OVP which detects hearing aid wearer’s own voice and process separately from external sounds. This means when the wearer is speaking, the hearing aid detects and apply dedicated setting different from when only external sounds are present, providing comfortable own voice and best audibility of external speech.

Direct Streaming Connectivity

Signia Nx uses 2.4 GHz Bluetooth to connect to your iPhone so you can listen to phone calls and music directly through the hearing aids without any additional accessories.

In addition, streaming is available for Android Smartphones and TV via the StreamLine Mic and Stream Line TV

Widex Beyond - made for iPhone

Beyond the ordinary

Widex have taken their hearing instruments to beyond the ordinary by providing connectivity to iPhones.

Wearers can now hear phone conversations through their hearing aids, can hear music from their iPhones through the devices and can use their iPhones to control their hearing aids.

The new range of instruments is called the Widex Beyond and the new feature is called Made for iPhone (MFi). Many of the features in the special app can also be used with android phones.

The Widex Beyond personalised app allows wearers to use intuitive commands on their phone’s screen to adjust the volume on each hearing aid individually, choose speech and comfort settings, and set microphone directionality.

Wearers can also use the app for troubleshooting and can even use their iPhone to find their hearing aids if they are lost.

Widex says its Beyond devices also offer better power consumption than other MFi-streaming hearing aids, which is a huge plus because with some MFi-linked devices, batteries may be reduced - depending on use.

The Widex Beyond hearing instruments have an innovative integrated signal processing chip-set design with full independent channel separation, minimal-delay filters, and four A/D converters, meaning clear sound for users.
